Delight in these adorable Valentine’s Oreo Truffles made with golden Oreo cookies, creamy cream cheese, and a sweet vanilla candy coating. These no-bake, bite-sized treats are decorated with festive sprinkles, perfect for gifting or sharing on special occasions.
Ingredients
Scale
Oreo Mixture
- 36-42 golden Oreo cookies
- 6 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
- 20 drops pink food coloring, divided (adjust as needed)
Candy Coating
- 16 ounces vanilla candy coating
- Favorite Valentine sprinkles
Instructions
- Prepare Oreo crumbs: Place 36 Oreo cookies in a food processor or crush them by hand in a sealed bag until they become fine crumbs.
- Mix Oreo crumbs and cream cheese: Transfer the crumbs to a mixer or keep in the processor, add the softened cream cheese and 10 drops of pink food coloring. Mix thoroughly until you get a consistent, sticky mixture.
- Form truffle balls: Check the mixture’s consistency; if too loose, add more crumbs. Use a small scoop or spoon to portion out the mixture, then roll between your palms to form firm, 1 1/4-inch balls.
- Freeze truffles: Place the balls on a parchment-lined cookie sheet and freeze them to firm up while preparing the coating.
- Melt candy coating: Break the vanilla candy coating into pieces, melt in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second bursts, stirring in between until fully melted and smooth.
- Dip truffles: Using a fork or dipping tool, coat each truffle with the melted candy, tapping off excess by dragging the bottom against the bowl’s edge.
- Decorate: Place coated truffles back on parchment and sprinkle with Valentine’s themed sprinkles while the coating is still soft.
- Repeat coating and decorating: Continue dipping and decorating until all truffles are covered.
- Set the coating: Refrigerate the tray for at least 15 minutes to allow the coating to harden. Serve at room temperature for the best flavor and texture. Enjoy!
Notes
- Storage: Keep Oreo balls refrigerated until serving. They taste best cold but can be left at room temperature for up to 2 hours safely due to cream cheese.
- Refrigeration: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
- Freezing: Freeze truffles for up to 3 months, thaw overnight in the fridge before serving.
