Ingredients
Scale
Base
- 40 Regular Oreo cookies, crushed into fine crumbs
- 6 ounces (¾ package) cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup vanilla frosting
Coating and Decorations
- 12 ounces vanilla almond bark (1 ½ cups or 6 squares)
- 24 Rolo candies
- 12 mini Oreos
- Assorted sprinkles for snowman faces
Instructions
- Prepare Pans: Line two sheet pans with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Mix Base: In a large bowl, combine the crushed Oreo cookie crumbs, softened cream cheese, and vanilla frosting. Mix thoroughly until the mixture is fully combined and uniform.
- Shape Oreo Balls: Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls with your hands. Place the balls evenly on one of the prepared sheet pans. Chill them in the refrigerator or freezer for about 15 minutes to firm up.
- Melt Almond Bark: While the balls chill, melt the vanilla almond bark either in a double boiler or microwave in short bursts, stirring frequently until smooth and creamy.
- Dip Oreo Balls: Once chilled, dip each Oreo ball into the melted almond bark using a spoon or fork to coat evenly, then place them back on the parchment-lined sheet pan to set.
- Decorate Snowman Hats: Before the chocolate sets completely, decorate each Oreo ball with a tiny snowman hat. Take half of a mini Oreo and place it on top as the brim, then position a Rolo candy on top with the narrow side down. Use additional melted almond bark to secure the pieces together.
- Add Faces: Use assorted sprinkles to create eyes, a nose, and other facial features for the snowman. Black circular sprinkles work well for eyes, while orange nonpareils are great for the nose.
- Chill to Set: Place the decorated Oreo balls in the refrigerator for at least one hour to fully set and chill before serving.
- Serve: Arrange the finished snowman Oreo balls on a platter and serve cold for best texture and flavor.
Notes
- Storage: Store the Oreo balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks. They can be kept at room temperature for about one week if you prefer a softer texture.
- Substitutions: If you don’t have Rolo candies, use additional mini Oreos for the hats, or vice versa.
- Sprinkle Tips: Choose sprinkles that will easily mimic snowman faces, such as black circular ones for eyes and orange nonpareils for noses. Alternatively, use black and orange icing for facial features.
- Dipping Tip: Use a spoon to lift the Oreo balls coated in almond bark and place them on the parchment to avoid excess coating dripping.
- Assembly Tip: Dip the narrow end of the Rolo candy in melted almond bark before attaching it to the mini Oreo hat brim to ensure it sticks well.
