Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 32 oz. frozen classic cheddar pierogies (two 16-oz. boxes, Mrs. T’s brand recommended)
- 12 oz. kielbasa, sliced
- 8 oz. cream cheese, cubed
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup cheddar cheese
- 1/4 tsp. freshly ground pepper
Instructions
- Add Ingredients: Place the frozen pierogies into the slow cooker. Add the sliced kielbasa, cubed cream cheese, and cheddar cheese on top of the pierogies, layering evenly.
- Pour Broth: Pour 3 cups of chicken broth over the pierogies and other ingredients, ensuring they are well covered.
- Slow Cook: Set the slow cooker to LOW and cook for 4 hours. Be careful not to cook longer as the pierogies may start to fall apart, affecting texture.
- Stir and Serve: After cooking, gently stir the mixture to combine the melted cheeses and broth. Serve warm immediately for best flavor and texture.
Notes
- The kielbasa can be omitted to make this a vegetarian dish.
- Feel free to substitute any flavor of pierogi such as onion, sauerkraut, or broccoli for variety.
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
