Tortellini:
- 9-ounce package refrigerated three cheese tortellini
Sausage:
- 1lb 3oz package brats (I used Johnsonville Brats)
Alfredo Sauce:
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 ounces cream cheese, cubed
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Cook Tortellini: Boil tortellini according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- Cook Sausage: Cook brats in a large saucepan until fully cooked. Slice and set aside.
- Prepare Sauce: In the same pan with sausage juices, melt butter. Add garlic and red pepper flakes, cook for 1 minute. Add flour, whisk until browned. Gradually add milk and cream, whisk until thickened. Stir in cheeses until melted.
- Combine and Serve: Add sausage and tortellini to the sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Serve hot.
