Description

Celebrate the holidays with this adorable and festive Reindeer Christmas Bark recipe. Made with rich baking chocolate, itty bitty pretzels, candy eyes, and colorful M&Ms, these bite-sized treats create charming reindeer faces perfect for holiday parties or gifting. Easy to make and no-bake, this recipe is a fun activity for all ages and brings a playful touch to seasonal celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Base

  • 12 ounces baking chocolate chips or almond bark

Reindeer Decorations

  • 48 itty bitty pretzels
  • 48 candy eyes
  • 48 brown mini M&Ms (regular M&Ms can also be used)
  • 24 red M&Ms
  • Holiday sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Melt the Chocolate: Break up or chop the baking chocolate into smaller pieces. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
  2. Prepare Baking Sheets: Line two baking sheets with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  3. Form Chocolate Circles: Using about 1 tablespoon (0.5 oz) of melted chocolate, spoon onto the parchment paper and swirl with the back of a spoon to create a roughly 2-inch diameter circle. Make sure the layer is not too thin to maintain sturdiness.
  4. Add Antlers: Place two itty bitty pretzels on top of each chocolate circle positioned like antlers.
  5. Attach Eyes: Place two candy eyes in the center area of each chocolate circle for the reindeer’s eyes.
  6. Make the Ears: Stand two brown mini M&Ms upright on the outer sides near the pretzels to resemble ears.
  7. Add the Nose: Position one red M&M just below the eyes to serve as the reindeer’s bright red nose.
  8. Decorate and Chill: Sprinkle holiday sprinkles if desired over the bark, then transfer the baking sheets to the refrigerator. Chill until the chocolate hardens completely, about 15-20 minutes.

Notes

  • You can substitute almond bark or regular chocolate chips if baking chocolate is unavailable.
  • Use mini or regular M&Ms depending on size preferences for ears and noses.
  • Store the finished bark in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep it fresh and firm.
  • For a dairy-free option, choose dairy-free chocolate and candy eyes.
  • Customize your bark with other festive sprinkles or edible glitter for extra holiday cheer.
