Description

These Slow Cooker Peachy Barbecue Ribs are tender, flavorful, and perfect for an easy, hands-off meal. The slow cooking method allows the ribs to soak up a delightful blend of barbecue sauce, sweet peaches, and tangy seasonings for a delicious twist on a classic favorite.

Ingredients

Scale

Ribs

  • 1 rack baby back pork ribs

Sauce

  • 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce
  • 15.25 oz. can sliced peaches, drained and diced
  • 1 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ribs: Remove the ribs from packaging and pat them dry. Remove the silver skin from the back of the ribs by loosening it along the center edge and pulling it off, sometimes in one piece. Use a sharp knife to cut the ribs in half or into individual pieces. Set aside.
  2. Make the Sauce: In the slow cooker, combine the barbecue sauce, diced peaches, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, and garlic powder. Stir well to blend all ingredients evenly.
  3. Coat the Ribs: Add the prepared ribs to the slow cooker and flip them in the sauce to ensure they are well coated on all sides.
  4. Cook Slowly: Cover the slow cooker with its lid and cook on low heat for 6 to 7 hours. Avoid opening the lid during cooking to maintain the temperature and moisture.
  5. Remove Excess Grease: After cooking, remove the lid and carefully lay a paper towel over the surface of the sauce to absorb the excess grease. Lift and discard the paper towel to remove the grease layer.
  6. Serve and Enjoy: Plate the ribs and spoon the peachy barbecue sauce over them. Serve hot and enjoy this tender, flavorful dish!

Notes

  • Removing the silver skin from ribs is important for tenderness and to allow flavors to penetrate better.
  • Do not open the slow cooker lid during cooking to retain heat and moisture.
  • Draining the peaches prevents the sauce from becoming too watery.
  • Removing excess grease before serving makes the dish lighter and less oily.
  • Serve with your favorite sides like coleslaw, cornbread, or roasted vegetables.
