Description

Monster Truffles are a fun and festive no-bake treat perfect for Halloween or any spooky occasion. Made with crushed Oreos, cream cheese, Snickers, and Reese’s Pieces, these truffles are coated in green-tinted white chocolate and decorated with candy eyeballs and purple sprinkles for a creepy-cute finish.

Ingredients

Scale

Truffle Mixture

  • 1 (14-oz.) package Oreos
  • 1 (8-oz.) block cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup finely chopped Snickers
  • 1/2 cup Reese’s Pieces, chopped

Chocolate Coating

  • 1 1/4 cups white chocolate chips
  • 2 Tbsp. coconut or vegetable oil
  • Green gel food coloring (about 10 drops, adjust for color)

Decorations

  • Candy eyeballs
  • Purple sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare Oreo Crumbs and Mixture: In a food processor, pulse the Oreos until fine crumbs form. Transfer the crumbs to a medium bowl, then stir in the softened cream cheese until well combined. Mix in the finely chopped Snickers and chopped Reese’s Pieces until fully incorporated.
  2. Form Truffle Balls: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a small cookie scoop, shape the mixture into small balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Freeze the balls until they are slightly hardened, about 30 minutes.
  3. Make Green White Chocolate Coating: In a medium microwave-safe bowl, combine the white chocolate chips and coconut or vegetable oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals until just melted, then stir until smooth, approximately 2 minutes total. Stir in green gel food coloring drops until the desired green color is achieved.
  4. Coat Truffles: Dip each frozen truffle ball into the melted green white chocolate until fully coated. Use a fork to lift it out, letting excess chocolate drip back into the bowl. Place the coated truffle on a parchment-lined baking sheet, then press a candy eyeball on top and sprinkle with purple sprinkles.
  5. Set the Coating: Repeat the dipping and decorating process with the remaining truffle balls. Once all are coated, freeze the truffles until the chocolate hardens, about 15 minutes.

Notes

  • Use softened cream cheese for easier mixing.
  • If you don’t have a food processor, place Oreos in a sealed plastic bag and crush with a rolling pin.
  • Adjust the amount of green gel coloring to achieve the perfect shade.
  • Store truffles in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • For a dairy-free version, substitute cream cheese and white chocolate with vegan alternatives.
