Description

This Lemon Garlic Parmesan Baked Chicken Wings recipe delivers crispy, golden-baked wings coated in a flavorful butter, garlic, parsley, and Parmesan sauce with fresh lemon zest. Perfectly seasoned with lemon pepper and baked to perfection, these wings make a delicious appetizer or main dish served with Caesar or ranch dressing for dipping.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken Wings

  • 2 lb. bone-in chicken wings
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or any vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons lemon pepper seasoning or Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste (do not add extra salt if seasoning blend contains salt)

Sauce

  • 4 tablespoons melted butter (½ stick)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons freshly chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan, plus more for serving

Serving

  • Caesar or ranch dressing, for dipping

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a large rimmed baking sheet with foil for easy cleanup. Place a metal rack on top of the baking sheet and lightly spray with cooking spray if desired.
  2. Season the Wings: Toss the chicken wings with olive oil and sprinkle with lemon pepper or Italian seasoning along with salt and pepper if needed. Arrange the wings on the prepared metal rack in a single layer.
  3. Bake the Wings: Bake the wings in the preheated oven for approximately 40-45 minutes until fully cooked and golden crispy. Check after 30 minutes to monitor progress and avoid burning. If not crispy enough after 45 minutes, use the broiler for 2-3 minutes, watching closely.
  4. Prepare the Sauce: In a large bowl, combine the warm melted butter with minced garlic, freshly chopped parsley, freshly grated Parmesan, and lemon zest. Stir until well mixed.
  5. Toss Wings in Sauce: Add the baked wings to the bowl with the sauce and toss thoroughly until all wings are evenly coated.
  6. Serve: Sprinkle additional Parmesan over the coated wings if desired. Serve immediately with Caesar or ranch dressing on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • Chicken wings generally take 40-50 minutes at 400°F to become crispy; ovens vary, so start checking at 30 minutes.
  • If wings aren’t crispy by 45 minutes, broil them for 2-3 minutes but watch carefully to prevent burning.
  • If using whole wings, remove wing tips and cut into wingettes and drumettes before cooking; discard wing tips.
  • For grilling: follow seasoning instructions, then grill wings for 7-10 minutes per side. Toss with butter sauce after grilling.
  • For air frying: skip oil, season wings, air fry at 400°F for 25-30 minutes, flipping once. Toss with butter sauce afterward.
