Pasta:

  • 8 ounces pasta, any shape

Chicken:

  • 4 thin-sliced boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Fresh-ground black pepper
  • Zest of 1 large lemon

Sauce:

  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 2 Tablespoons butter, divided
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup white wine
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan

For Serving:

  • Lemon wedges
  • Fresh parsley or thyme

Instructions

  1. Cook Pasta: Boil water, add pasta, and cook until just shy of al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Season Chicken: Season chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and lemon zest.
  3. Cook Chicken: Brown chicken in olive oil and butter until nearly cooked through. Set aside.
  4. Make Sauce: Sauté garlic and red pepper flakes, then add white wine, broth, lemon juice, zest, and Italian seasoning. Simmer.
  5. Combine: Toss drained pasta with Parmesan, then add chicken back to the skillet. Cook briefly until chicken is fully done.
  6. Serve: Garnish with lemon wedges, parsley or thyme, and extra Parmesan.
