Instructions
- Prepare the Cupcake Tin: Line the cupcake tin with cupcake liners, ensuring each cavity is well fitted with a liner.
- Place Marble: Place a marble in the center of the top of each cupcake liner. This will help create the heart shape during baking.
- Position Foil: Fold a small piece of foil to fit snugly on both sides of the cupcake liner around the marble to shape the batter as it bakes.
- Add Batter: Use a 1/4 measuring cup to add the cake batter into each cupcake liner over the marble and foil, filling appropriately.
- Bake: Bake the cupcakes in a preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool: Remove the cupcakes from the oven and let them cool in the pan for 20-25 minutes to allow the heart shape to set.
- Remove Marbles and Foil: Once cooled, carefully remove the marbles and foil pieces; you should now have heart-shaped cupcakes.
- Frost and Decorate: Frost the cupcakes as desired. Suggested decorating ideas include mini rosettes made with a star tip piping bag, crisscross designs by angling the piping bag, outlining hearts, or simply adding sprinkles.
Notes
- For mini rosettes, hold your piping bag straight up and down and make small circles using a star tip.
- For a crisscross design, slightly angle the piping bag and create overlapping lines on the frosting.
- To make a heart outline, pipe around the edges of the cupcake and fill the center with small piped circles.
- Add any sprinkles to enhance the appearance and texture.
