Description

Halloween Strawberry Monsters are a fun and spooky no-bake treat perfect for Halloween parties. Made with fresh ripe strawberries, white and black fondant, and candy eyes, these adorable monsters are easy to assemble and delightfully creepy. The fondant shapes create mouths with tiny teeth, giving each strawberry a characterful, monster-like face that is sure to entertain kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Scale

Fruits

  • 12 ripe strawberries

Fondant and Decorations

  • 2 ounces (50g) white fondant
  • Black food coloring gel (enough to tint half the fondant black)
  • 1/3 cup powdered icing sugar (for dusting and rolling fondant)
  • White writing icing tube (for glueing decorations)
  • 12 candy eyes

Instructions

  1. Prepare Strawberries: Cut the tops off the strawberries so they can stand upright with their pointed tips facing upward, creating the base for your monster faces.
  2. Color Fondant: Add a few drops of black food coloring gel to half of the white fondant and knead it thoroughly, adding more gel as needed until you achieve a solid black color.
  3. Roll Fondant: Lightly dust your work surface with powdered icing sugar to prevent sticking, then roll out the white and black fondants separately into thin sheets suitable for cutting small shapes.
  4. Cut Mouths and Teeth: From the black fondant, cut out small oval shapes that will fit onto the strawberries as mouths. From the white fondant, cut tiny triangles to serve as monster teeth.
  5. Assemble Mouths: Use a bit of water on your fingertip as edible glue to attach the white fondant teeth onto the black fondant ovals.
  6. Attach Decorations: Using the white writing icing, glue the assembled mouths onto the strawberries. Then, place one candy eye above each mouth, securing them with a small dab of icing to complete each monster face.

Notes

  • Use fresh, firm strawberries for best results that stand easily.
  • If you don’t have black fondant, store-bought black fondant can be substituted.
  • Keep hands lightly dusted with icing sugar to prevent fondant from sticking.
  • These treats are best served the same day to keep strawberries fresh.
  • For variation, try different candy eyes sizes for more personality.
