Description

Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup salted butter
  • 8 ounces baby bella mushrooms, chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream OR half & half OR whole milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups parmesan cheese, freshly grated

Topping:

  • 2 cups French fried onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Prepare Green Beans: Spread green beans in a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  3. Sauté Mushrooms: In a skillet, melt butter, add mushrooms, salt, and pepper. Sauté for 4-5 minutes.
  4. Add Flour and Cream: Stir in flour, then add cream and cook until bubbles form.
  5. Combine Cheese: Stir in parmesan cheese until melted and sauce thickens.
  6. Coat Beans: Pour sauce over beans and mix. Top with fried onions.
  7. Bake: Bake uncovered for 45 minutes. Check for doneness.
