Green Beans:
- 2 pounds fresh green beans, washed and trimmed
Sauce:
- 1/2 cup salted butter
- 8 ounces baby bella mushrooms, chopped
- 2 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream OR half & half OR whole milk
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 cups parmesan cheese, freshly grated
Topping:
- 2 cups French fried onions
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Prepare Green Beans: Spread green beans in a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- Sauté Mushrooms: In a skillet, melt butter, add mushrooms, salt, and pepper. Sauté for 4-5 minutes.
- Add Flour and Cream: Stir in flour, then add cream and cook until bubbles form.
- Combine Cheese: Stir in parmesan cheese until melted and sauce thickens.
- Coat Beans: Pour sauce over beans and mix. Top with fried onions.
- Bake: Bake uncovered for 45 minutes. Check for doneness.
