Dry Ingredients
- 3 cups rolled oats
- 1 1/2 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 1/2 cups graham crackers, crushed in pieces and crumbs
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup cereal marshmallows
Wet Ingredients
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 6 tablespoons packed brown sugar
- 2/3 cup honey
Instructions
- Prepare the Pan: Spray an 8×8 inch pan with vegetable oil or baking spray and line just the bottom with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Make the Syrup: In a small saucepan over medium heat, add the butter, brown sugar, and honey. Whisk continuously until the mixture starts bubbling, then cook for exactly 2 more minutes for a rich, sticky consistency.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the oats, Rice Krispies cereal, crushed graham crackers, and salt. Stir to distribute evenly.
- Combine Wet and Dry: Pour the hot butter mixture over the dry ingredients. Carefully whisk or fold to evenly coat all the ingredients. Allow the mixture to cool for about 20 minutes.
- Add Extras: Gently fold in the cereal marshmallows and mini chocolate chips until evenly dispersed.
- Press into Pan: Transfer the mixture into the prepared pan and gently press it down, slightly packing for firmness. Refrigerate for 2 hours to set.
- Slice and Serve: Once solidified, cut into 16 bars and enjoy!
Notes
- Adjust the amount of chocolate chips and marshmallows according to your preference for sweetness.
- If you prefer a chewier texture, refrigerate the bars for a longer period, up to 4 hours.
- Store these granola bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for longer freshness.
- You can substitute honey with maple syrup for a different flavor profile.
