Instructions
- Melt Butter: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium-low heat, ensuring it does not brown.
- Cook Garlic and Seasoning: Add the minced garlic and Italian seasoning to the melted butter. Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
- Make Roux: Whisk in the flour to form a smooth paste, cooking for about 1 minute to eliminate raw flour taste.
- Add Broth: Slowly pour in the chicken (or vegetable) broth while whisking continuously to prevent lumps. Continue whisking until the mixture is smooth and incorporated.
- Simmer to Thicken: Bring the mixture to a low simmer and cook for about 2 minutes until it begins to thicken.
- Add Cream and Cheese: Stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese. Whisk until the cheese melts and the sauce becomes smooth and creamy, about 2–3 minutes.
- Season and Serve: Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed. Serve immediately over pasta, pizza, or as a dip.

- For a gluten-free version, substitute the flour with cornstarch or a gluten-free flour blend.
- To enhance flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
