Description

This Garlic Olive Oil Dip is a quick and flavorful appetizer perfect for pairing with your favorite bread. Combining finely minced garlic, red pepper flakes, oregano, freshly grated parmesan, and extra virgin olive oil, it creates a savory and aromatic dip that adds a delicious touch to any meal or snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Dip Ingredients

  • 1-2 cloves garlic, very finely minced
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • Freshly ground black pepper & salt to taste

For Garnish

  • Fresh chopped parsley

For Serving

  • Bread for dipping (we love focaccia!)

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: Add the minced garlic, red pepper flakes, and dried oregano into a medium-sized shallow bowl or plate. Grate the parmesan cheese directly over these ingredients, then pour the extra virgin olive oil on top.
  2. Mix and Season: Stir all the ingredients together gently using a spoon until well combined. Season with freshly ground black pepper and salt to taste. Optionally, add freshly chopped parsley or basil on top to garnish.
  3. Serve: Serve the dip immediately with pieces of bread such as focaccia for dipping and enjoy the fresh, zesty flavors.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of garlic and red pepper flakes according to your taste preference.
  • Use high-quality extra virgin olive oil for the best flavor.
  • This dip is best served fresh but can be refrigerated and consumed within a day.
  • Try adding fresh basil instead of parsley for a different herbal note.
  • Great accompaniment for crackers and raw vegetables as well.
