Ingredients
Scale
Base Ingredients
- 6 candy canes, unwrapped
- 18 large marshmallows
Chocolate Coatings
- 1 cup melting chocolate (milk or dark chocolate)
- 1 cup white melting chocolate
- ¼ cup green candy melts
- ¼ cup red candy melts
Decorations
- 2 tablespoons crushed candy canes
- 2 tablespoons holiday sprinkles
Instructions
- Assemble: Thread 3 marshmallows onto each candy cane carefully. You may unwrap the candy canes, but they can break easily, so if you leave them wrapped, give them a quick gentle wash first before assembly.
- Melt the chocolate: Place the melting chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until melted and smooth. Repeat this process separately for the white melting chocolate, as well as the green and red candy melts. Follow package instructions if they differ from these steps.
- Coat the marshmallows: Working quickly, dip or spoon the melted brown chocolate over half of the marshmallow pops, and the white chocolate over the other half, fully coating each marshmallow except for the candy cane loop. Place them on parchment paper to rest.
- Decorate: While the chocolate coatings are still wet, sprinkle crushed candy canes and holiday sprinkles over them as desired. Melt the green and red candy melts and drizzle or pipe decorative designs over some of the marshmallow pops. Let the coated pops sit for about 5 minutes to allow the coatings to harden.
- Serve: Once hardened, the marshmallow pops are ready to enjoy at your festive gathering or package them as thoughtful gifts.
Notes
- Storage: Store the marshmallow pops in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 7 days once the chocolate has hardened. If your environment is warm, it’s best to keep them refrigerated.
- Freezing is not recommended as it may affect the texture and quality of the marshmallows and chocolate coating.
- For crushing candy canes, use a food processor or place them in a ziplock bag and crush with a rolling pin for easy and even pieces.
- Ensure the candy coating is fully hardened before storing to prevent sticking and melting.
