Ingredients
Scale
Sliders
- Cooking spray
- 1 bag Hawaiian sweet rolls (12 count)
- 1 lb. deli-style, oven-roasted turkey or Thanksgiving turkey leftovers, thinly sliced
- 1 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
- 4 oz. gouda, thinly sliced
- 4 oz. mild cheddar, thinly sliced
Butter Glaze
- 3 Tbsp. unsalted butter, softened
- 2 Tbsp. sliced chives, plus more for serving
- 1/2 tsp. poppy seeds, plus more for sprinkling
- 1/4 tsp. onion powder
- 1/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Rolls: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 13″ x 9″ baking dish with cooking spray. Place the whole Hawaiian sweet rolls on a cutting board and carefully slice them in half horizontally using a long bread knife, keeping the rolls attached so they don’t separate. Set the top halves aside.
- Assemble Sliders: Evenly layer the thinly sliced turkey over the bottom half of the rolls. Spread the whole berry cranberry sauce over the turkey, then sprinkle the gouda and mild cheddar cheese slices evenly on top. Place the top halves of the rolls back over the cheese to close the sliders.
- Make Butter Glaze: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the softened unsalted butter. Stir in the sliced chives, poppy seeds, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce until well combined to create a flavorful glaze.
- Brush and Prepare for Baking: Using a pastry brush, evenly coat the tops of the slider rolls with the butter glaze mixture. Sprinkle additional poppy seeds over the top for extra texture and appearance. Lightly cover the baking dish with foil to prevent excessive browning during the initial baking.
- Bake the Sliders: Bake the covered sliders in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Then remove the foil and continue baking for another 10 to 15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese has melted thoroughly.
- Serve: Carefully transfer the sliders to a platter and sprinkle additional fresh chives on top for garnish. Serve warm for the best taste and texture.
Notes
- Use leftover Thanksgiving turkey for a festive twist, or deli-style oven-roasted turkey for convenience.
- Adjust the amount of cranberry sauce based on your preference for sweetness and tartness.
- If you don’t have gouda, substitute with another good melting cheese such as Monterey Jack or mozzarella.
- For a dairy-free version, substitute cheese and butter with plant-based alternatives.
- Sliders can be assembled a few hours ahead and refrigerated; add glaze and bake just before serving.
