Ingredients
Scale
Oreo Layer:
- 36 regular Oreos (407 grams), with filling
- 5 tablespoons salted butter (71 grams), melted
Cream Cheese Layer:
- 12 ounces cream cheese (341 grams; 1½ bricks), room temperature
- ¼ cup granulated sugar (50 grams)
- 1 tablespoon milk (14 grams), room temperature
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract (8 grams)
- 8 ounces whipped topping (227 grams; 1 tub), such as Cool Whip
Chocolate Pudding Layer:
- 7.8 ounces instant chocolate pudding mix (221 grams; 2 (3.9-ounce) boxes)
- 3 cups milk (681 grams)
Whipped Topping Layer:
- 8 ounces whipped topping (227 grams)
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips (177 grams)
Instructions
- Prepare Oreo Layer: Combine the Oreos and melted butter in a food processor and grind until completely pulverized with no large chunks remaining. Then, spread this mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch pan, pressing down to ensure it evenly reaches the edges for a solid crust base.
- Make Cream Cheese Layer: In a mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese, granulated sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and whipped topping until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Spread this evenly over the Oreo crust, smoothing the top carefully to avoid mixing layers.
- Prepare Chocolate Pudding Layer: Beat the instant chocolate pudding mix with 3 cups of milk until fully combined and smooth. Pour the pudding over the cream cheese layer and spread it out evenly reaching all edges.
- Add Whipped Topping Layer: Spread the remaining whipped topping carefully over the chocolate pudding layer, smoothing it out to cover completely to the edges of the pan.
- Garnish and Chill: Sprinkle mini chocolate chips evenly over the whipped topping layer. Cover the pan and refrigerate the entire dessert for 4-5 hours, or until fully set and chilled.
Notes
- For best results, use room temperature cream cheese and milk to ensure a smooth cream cheese layer.
- The dessert can be made a day ahead to allow flavors to meld and layers to set firmly.
- If you prefer a less sweet dessert, consider using reduced sugar pudding or less sugar in the cream cheese layer.
- Use a sharp knife warmed under hot water to slice clean pieces when serving.
- Storage: Keep chilled and consume within 3-4 days for optimal freshness.
