Ingredients
Scale
Chocolates
- 2 cups semi-sweet melting chocolates
- 2 cups white chocolate melting wafers
Decorations
- ½ cup white non-pareil sprinkles
- ½ cup red, green, and white non-pareil sprinkles
- ½ cup crushed candy canes
Instructions
- Prepare the sprinkles: Arrange your white non-pareil sprinkles, red, green, and white non-pareil sprinkles, and crushed candy canes in three separate rows about ¼ inch deep on a serving dish with high edges or on three separate plates. This setup will make decorating the chocolates easy and neat.
- Melt the chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the semi-sweet melting chocolates according to the package instructions. Melt only one type of chocolate at a time, since melted chocolate hardens quickly, and reheating twice should be avoided.
- Make the candy: Transfer the melted semi-sweet chocolate into a piping bag or a zip lock bag with a small hole cut at the tip. Pipe small circles about ½ inch in diameter directly over the arranged sprinkles. Continue until all the chocolate or half the sprinkles are used.
- Remove the candy: Let the chocolates rest on the sprinkles for about 5 minutes or until they harden. To speed up this process, you can refrigerate them for a minute. Once set, use a fork to carefully scoop the candies out from the sprinkles.
- Repeat: Repeat the melting and candy making process with the white chocolate melting wafers, following the same steps as before.
- Finish: Gather all the candies and place them into a bowl, mason jar, or gift bag. Serve immediately or package as festive gifts for the holiday season.
Notes
- Serves about 4 cups of candy.
- Store candies at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks or refrigerate for up to 4 weeks.
- You can freeze these candies in an airtight container for up to 5 months.
- Ensure you melt only one chocolate flavor at a time to avoid repeated reheating.
- Do not warm these candies after they have set, as they may melt and stick together.
- Shape the candies as desired, not limited to circles; try writing or creating festive shapes like Christmas trees.
