Description

Indulge in the creamy and cheesy goodness of this Broccoli Cheese Casserole. A comforting side dish that pairs perfectly with any meal, this casserole is loaded with broccoli, cream cheese, cheddar, and Parmesan, all baked to perfection.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Broccoli:

  • 1 1/2 pounds broccoli florets

Cheese Mixture:

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature, cut in cubes
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Seasonings:

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
  • Crushed red pepper flakes, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350˚F.
  2. Prepare Baking Dish: Grease a 2.5 to 3-quart baking dish with butter and set aside.
  3. Cook Broccoli: In a large skillet, bring 1/2 inch of salted water to a boil. Add the broccoli, cover, and cook over high heat until crisp-tender, about 3 to 4 minutes.
  4. Mix Cheese Mixture: In a bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Assemble Casserole: Place cooked broccoli in the prepared baking dish and spread the cheese mixture over the top.
  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.
  7. Serve: Garnish with red pepper flakes if desired, then let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can add cooked, crumbled bacon for extra flavor.
  • For a crispy topping, sprinkle breadcrumbs mixed with melted butter over the casserole before baking.
