For the Blackberry Syrup:
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups fresh blackberries
For the Lemonade:
- 4 cups water, divided
- 1 cup lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)
Instructions
- Make the Blackberry Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water with the sugar and blackberries. Bring to a gentle boil, smashing the berries to release their juice. Cook for 2-3 minutes until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
- Strain the Syrup: Strain the blackberry syrup through a fine strainer or cheesecloth into a pitcher to remove seeds. Discard the seeds.
- Prepare the Lemonade: Stir in lemon juice and remaining 3 cups of water into the pitcher with the blackberry syrup.
- Serve: Chill the lemonade and serve over ice for a refreshing drink.
Notes
