Blueberry Juice
- 16 ounces frozen blueberries or 2 cups blueberry juice
- 1 cup water
- 3/4 cup organic raw sugar
- 1/2 cup lemon juice (about 4 lemons), freshly squeezed
Tea
- 6 cups strong green tea (or black tea as an alternative)
- 6 teabags or 6 teaspoons loose green tea leaves
Instructions
- Make the blueberry juice: Combine blueberries, water, raw sugar, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Crush blueberries with a potato masher or immersion blender to release their juices. Strain through a sieve, reserving the juice and discarding the pulp. Allow to cool.
- Make the lemon tea: Boil 6 cups of water and pour over the green tea bags or leaves. Let the water cool to about 170-180°F for green tea, then steep for 3 minutes. For black tea, use boiling water and steep 5-7 minutes. Remove the tea leaves and let tea cool.
- Combine and serve: Mix the cooled blueberry juice, brewed tea, and remaining lemon juice in a large pitcher. Add ice or refrigerate until chilled. Serve cold and enjoy!
Notes
- Make sure to steep green tea at the right temperature to avoid bitterness.
- Adjust the sweetness by modifying the amount of sugar to taste.
- This drink can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- You can garnish with fresh lemon slices or blueberries for presentation.
