Ingredients
Scale
Pizza Sauce Mixture
- 1 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce, divided
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
Cheese and Filling
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, grated
- 1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 ½ cups mini pepperoni, thinly sliced or chopped
Others
- 20 square wonton wrappers
- Cooking oil spray
Instructions
- Prepare the pizza sauce mixture: In a small mixing bowl, combine pizza sauce, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well to create a flavorful sauce. Set aside ¼ cup of this mixture for serving later.
- Mix the cheeses: In a medium bowl, combine the grated cheddar, mozzarella, and parmesan cheeses. Mix thoroughly. For better mixing, chop the cheese into smaller pieces if needed.
- Assemble the pizza rolls: Prepare a small bowl of water for sealing the wonton wrappers. Take one wonton wrapper at a time, place 1 teaspoon of the pizza sauce mixture in the center, add 1 tablespoon of the cheese mixture over it, and top with 3-4 slices of mini pepperoni.
- Seal the wonton wrappers: Dip your finger into the water and moisten the edges of the wrapper. Fold each corner over the center, forming an envelope shape, and press firmly to seal the filling securely inside. Repeat with all wrappers.
- Air fry the pizza rolls: Place the assembled pizza rolls in batches in an even layer in the air fryer basket. Spray them evenly with cooking oil spray to ensure crispiness. Cook at 350°F (175°C) for 8–10 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve: Remove the pizza rolls from the air fryer and serve hot with the reserved pizza sauce mixture for dipping.
Notes
- Deep frying option: For a different texture, you can deep fry the pizza rolls in oil until golden and puffy, about 1-2 minutes.
- Storage: Store leftover pizza rolls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
- Reheating: To reheat leftovers, toast them in the air fryer at 350°F for 4-6 minutes until warmed through and crispy.
- Freezing: Freeze the mini pizza rolls in a freezer-safe bag for 2-3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator before reheating.
