Description

These Chicken Skewer Kabobs are juicy, flavorful, and quickly cooked to perfection in an air fryer. Featuring marinated boneless skinless chicken thighs seasoned with garlic powder, BBQ seasoning, and smoky BBQ sauce, these kabobs make a delicious and easy meal with minimal cleanup.

Chicken Skewers

  • 12 ounces boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • ¾ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons BBQ seasoning
  • kosher salt to taste
  • ground black pepper to taste
  • ⅓ cup BBQ sauce
  • olive oil spray

Garnish

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken: Cut boneless chicken thighs into bite-sized chunks to prepare for skewering.
  2. Thread onto skewers: Thread the chicken pieces onto skewers, placing about 4 pieces per skewer for even cooking.
  3. Season: Sprinkle the skewered chicken with kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and BBQ seasoning evenly to infuse flavor.
  4. Marinate: Refrigerate the seasoned skewers for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour to let the flavors meld and tenderize the meat.
  5. Prepare air fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 370°F (188°C) and lightly spray the air fryer tray with olive oil spray.
  6. Air fry first half: Place the chicken skewers gently on the air fryer tray and cook in the middle chamber for 7 minutes.
  7. Brush BBQ sauce and flip: Remove the tray, brush BBQ sauce over the chicken, turn the skewers, brush again, then return to the air fryer.
  8. Continue cooking and saucing: Repeat brushing BBQ sauce and turning the skewers every 5 minutes, for a total cooking time of 20 minutes.
  9. Final touch & serve: Once cooked through and caramelized, garnish the kabobs with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately.
