Milk
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) of milk of choice
Hot Chocolate Mix
- 2 tablespoons of hot chocolate mix
Heavy Whipping Cream
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) of heavy whipping cream
Instructions
- Whip the Cream and Hot Chocolate Mix: Add the heavy whipping cream and 1 tablespoon of hot chocolate mix into a cup. Use a milk frother or whisk to whip until the mixture becomes light and airy, which takes about 3-5 minutes. The colder the cream, the easier and quicker it will whip.
- Heat the Milk: Pour the milk into a microwave-safe mug and microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until the milk is steaming hot.
- Mix the Hot Chocolate: Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of hot chocolate mix to the hot milk and stir thoroughly until well combined and smooth.
- Layer the Drink: Pour the hot chocolate into a serving mug and carefully spoon the whipped cream mixture on top, creating a fluffy, floating cream layer. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- For an extra indulgence, sprinkle some cocoa powder or chocolate shavings on top of the whipped cream.
- You can substitute the milk with almond, soy, or oat milk for a dairy-free version.
- If the whipped cream isn’t fluffy enough, chill the bowl and whisk beforehand.
